HISTORICAL RECORD OF THE SUNBEAM TIGER 1963 - 1967

SUNBEAM TIGER OWNERS CLUB APPEAL TO ANY ENTHUSIAST OF THE SUNBEAM TIGER FOR HISTORICAL INFORMATION

If you were in any way involved with the development, production, distribution and competition activities of the Sunbeam Tiger between the years 1963 and 1967, or know someone who was, you might be able to help the Sunbeam Tiger Owners Club (UK) in our attempt to fill the many gaps in historical fact and detail surrounding the manufacture of the Tiger.

You may be aware that whilst several very good books cover much of the known history of the Sunbeam Tiger, among others Mike Taylor's " TIGER - The Making of a Sports Car" and Norman Miller's "Book of Norman" are excellent examples, a great deal of historical detail still remains unrecorded; mainly because so much was lost with the destruction by Chrysler UK of most of the official Rootes factory records.

Our Club archivist and magazine editor feel a direct appeal for information should be made to browsers of the Club's website. By appealing directly to those people who were there and involved with our fabled marque we are hoping to jog memories, to encourage people to tell us how they were involved with the Sunbeam Tiger at Rootes or Jensen or in the distribution network or with an associate company or sub-contractor, to tell us about your job and place in the organisation and to establish whether any records, literature or personal photographs etc, could be made available/loaned to STOC. Indeed, we would also like to find out whether you might be prepared to write down your memories and tales about the Tiger!

It may be that were our appeal for information to prove to be of interest then initially we would like to publish, with your permission, duly credited extracts in our Club magazine - "Cats Whiskers". Please bear in mind that no detail will be too small for us!
