Recommendations for recomissioning my Tiger

Post by flynnr2 » Wed Jul 01, 2009 11:04 am

Would appreciate any suggestions folks have for recommissioning my Tiger.

Tiger was in top form 4 years ago, full service & MOT immediately prior to being placed in storage, and has been started weekly & run up to operating temps.

(1) Any recommendations for a trusted/sympathetic shop to have it gone over & MOT'd in the East Grinstead area?

(2) Any suggestions for a new set of 185/70R13s?

(3) Any suggestions for a 289 V8/Edelbrock carb friendly rolling road service in the greater London area?

Thanks in advance,

Hi I would be happy to help, i own a garage/MOT station, it may be to far away from you near Southampton, about a one hour drive, but as well as my own i look after and MOT a couple of other members tigers. No rolling road, but i may be able to help with carb, i have one on my own car. If we can help give us a call. Harry

Hi Rick,

I can't help you with the local stuff, but in regards to your tyres I heard that alot of people are fitting softer compound sportier tyres. This is due to the amount of use our Tiger's get and alot of owners are finding that the tyres are reaching their used by date with plenty of tread remaining. The down side is that they cost more, but at least you get the use of the tyres with a higher rate of wear. Your local tyres dealers should be able to sort out some suitable rubber.

Regards, Robin.
