Went the drag races last weekend and beat up on some american muscle cars Chey's, Ford and Mopar's
Raced in the 10 second heads up class and won.
When i was walking through the pits with my trophy and a little cash

people were saying there goes that guy with the little green car that kick everybody's butt

Now there's a nice homage to the AHRA Tigers of yore! 10 sec class in itself is very impressive. Heads up as well - classic stuff. Congratulations! Just as an aside, how does "the little Green car" track under that kind of torque with such a short wheelbase? Me thinks a certain centre line would being showing interest...

After owning the car for 40 yrs I seem to know every little twitch of the car and it really goes straight down the track and I guess that is what really surprise's the other cars

Jerry,
What times did you run this time.. and they didnt boot you off for once!
Were you running conservative passes to win the class, or did track conditions keep you out of the 9's?

That and the twin turbo's would certainly help. Congrats on your win in class.

Believe it or not this track really likes me
On fri night T&T the track manager told me I could run what ever I wanted to so I did go a 9:80@140 but I was really getting the car dialed in for the 10 sec. class and cutting a light on the pro tree.

Reminds me of Super Gas class back here in the late 80's. That was a 9.90 index with a heads up start. It always made for great racing and was a bit like a Pro Stock for the masses (save the break out). The heads up was what made it for me. That said, a 9.90 car was pretty much a full on race car, big tyres, occassional wheelie bar action - nowadays you can see that sort of stuff on the street! Put that package in a Tiger...WOW. Did you Go-Pro it or anything similar?

Tom the car still has a stock Sunbeam look no big tires or flares.
Well I guess they are big for the stock wheel wells 245-60-15 but no flares.
I drove it today to a car show about 70miles from the house today and its about 100 degrees out today

Jerry, one day you may retire (or not) but if you do, can I buy your car

I bet you get a lot of people under estimating how quick your Tiger is... not much to tell it has a potent mix under the bonnet.

Those days are coming and really faster than I had expected, but like anything sooner or later that day will come
