They have done a nice job with the conversion and at least the new owner would have something original. I would have kept the original wings though (that's just me though).

Export MKII's destined for North America and Canada wore these appliques behind the Tiger flash on each wing.Will post images later.
There was piece about this in Cats Whiskers a while back.

didn't the original owner of this car ( peter ???? ) also build a similar car that was painted gold? the photo shown looks to be one i took at SUNI 1 and i think one of my photos also shows the gold car parked beside it.

65Beam - that would be Peter Matthews. I used to bring back new Edelbrock manifolds, holley carbs etc from Florida for him !
I was at SUNI 1 as well, great meeting, maybe we met ?

suni 1 was a great event as were the other four. we have attended all five suni's. there have been some great cars at the suni's and some have been rather unique. it was a treat to show my red lemans alongside the harrington tiger at suni 2. i wonder where that tiger is today. i know one owner here in the states has been trying to find out where it is. i remember years back when tiger tom, wally swift and several others went to help prepare it for it's showing at pebble beach. we may have met,but that was a long time ago and many, many sunbeam meets later.llike my ol buddy doug jennings says, we're getting old and sometimes don't remember everything. at least i think that's what he told me yesterday. or was that last week?

Nothing to do with private adaptions of the Tiger using ex-Harrington tops but a description of what the writer/historian believes is the origins of the 'Harrington Tiger'. Clearly a very nice but, that well known rumour about this car still pursist's though. How is it a Harrington converted /built vehicle sometime way after the company ceased trading?

Did they re-open just to make this car?
