CALLING ALL STOC MEMBERS
Action on the Mercedes-Benz World circuit will be provided by over 100 Pre-war cars taking part in a full competitive sprint, the Brooklands Speed Trials, on Saturday 5th June. Another 144 cars (12 in each of 12 classes) have been invited to compete in the combined Double Twelve Driving Tests and Concours competition in and around the Museum site on both Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th June.
One of these Classes is for Anglo American Sports Cars - American V8 engined British sports and GT cars and it looks like we will have 6 Tigers entered in this class and taking on the famous Brooklands Hill.
These Tigers are Paul Roberts newly restored ex-works rally car ADU 311B; Andrew Davenall’s road / race car GYU 818C; Malcolm Sedman’s concours MK1 PGF 745E; Andrew Yates exemplary MKII OBP 136E; Tony Tomaselli’s road / race MKII with its strocker 347 cu/ 300 hp motor – KOM 366E to be driven by Dean McGee and Nigel Tipping in his MK1 JFL 136D for its second crack at this competition (2nd in Class last time out).

There will be a Club stand on Sunday as we shall be having bit of a ‘First’ for the Sunbeam Tiger that day – the first time we will have together the 4 late right hand drive MKII’s that were private sales at the end of production and hopefully a couple of the Met Police RHD MKII’s as well – giving a display of 6 of 10 HRO Tiger 2’s,

STOC INVITED TO BE ON DISPLAY WITHIN THE EVENT ON SUNDAY ONLY
Two free tickets will be provided for each club per ten cars attending.

Adult £12.00 (inc 1 Tiger)
Child £5.00
Stand Tigers must be on-site from 09:00 – 18:00 on Sunday 6th June

Although the Car Club Display is taking place on Sunday only, the Clubs special discounted ticket offer includes Saturday as well. There is also a great weekend ticket (all tickets at the discounted price must be purchased in advance, no discounts will be available on the day):

Saturday Adult £12.00, Child £5.00, Family £30.00
Weekend Adult £20.00, Child £8.00, Family £50.00

I have not entered my Tiger in this event but I was asked at short notice to drive one of the Brooklands Musem cars, a red 1934 Railton Terraplane. This will be quite a challenge for me as the steering is much heavier, and there is not much sychro on the gears.

I look forward to seeing all the Tigers compete, so if you see me in the big red Railton, come and say hello or give me a wave!

SUCCESSFUL D12 WEEKEND
The Tigers of Malcolm Sedman, Nigel Tipping; Tony Tomaselli - driven by Dean McGee and Andrew Yates - driven by Shelley McGee completely outperformed the Cobras of Class F in last weekends event at Brooklands.

Shelley gained a 2nd and Dean a 3rd in Class. They ought to have been 1 + 2 but there was some jiggery pokery at the start of the awards ceremony when a 3rd placed Cobra was inexplicably brought forward to take the prize from HRH Prince Michael. Despite the behaviour of the 'judges' the Tiger was the moral victor!!!! The Tigers plus a lone Brock Daytona Cobra kept the crowds properly entertained. Full report in upcoming Cats Whiskers.

Thanks Tony for your teriffic photography; another small gallery is here http://www.sunbeamtiger.co.uk/Galleries ... index.html

I should have posted this before now.

Following a protest at some wayward scoring by the judges, Class F rankings were altered to place Malcolm Sedman 2nd & Shelly 3rd with Dean and Nigel following up. The jiggery pokery at the start of the awards ceremony, when a MKII Cobra was inexplicably brought forward to take the prize from HRH Prince Michael, remains unexplained; something made plain to the VSCC and the Brooklands hierarchy. Despite the behaviour of officials the Tiger was the moral victor over the 'Cobras'!!!!

Thank you for those great photo's. It's not often that you see that many MkII's together and looking amazing every last one of them.

Thanks again, Robin.
