Oulton Park Gold Cup

Not quite Tiger material so aplogies, but with the sun shining on a bank holiday it was rude not to call in at my local circuit.

Weekend saw 480 classic cars racing at the historic circuit and with many car clubs attending there was plenty to see.

It was also a pleasure to bump into fellow Tiger owners (so an excuse to post!) at the event and a few pics on an album: Oulton Park Gold Cup Gallery of Pics

The highlight of the event featured the Sir Stirling Moss Trophy, a new event for pre-1961 sportscars and sports-racers. Moss himself competed in the event exactly 50 years after winning the 1960 Gold Cup in a Lotus 18 – and the 80-year-old piloted an Osca FS372. Sir Stirling had won the Oulton Park Gold Cup over his career a magnificent five times.

Great pics, thanks for sharing.

Sterling does annoy me. He claims to be so active at his age but you only ever see him sat down.

Nice to bump into you at the Gold Cup. You've got some top quality shots there (especially the one of my green Tiger!). Did you manage to meet up with the red Tiger owner?

Excellent day out - certainly recommend this event for next year for all you North-West Tiger owners.

Dom, sure we will meet up at the next Gold Cup meet - a truly fab gathering on our doorstep.

Did see a nice bathtub in the crowd....

hahahaha yes dads 356 was there...

Tigers will always be in my heart as you know...

It is a truely fantastic meeting which you should organise as a tiger meeting in the future... The racing is great as you know and worth a trip up for alot of you tiger owners..

Indeedy, but Tigers will be "up north" this year with the Chummelley Pageant of Power STOC annual meet
