"The Big Drive"

"The Big Drive" is the title of a great Pathe newsreel of the 1966 Motor Show at Earls Court http://www.britishpathe.com/record.php?id=44338 an event I confess to going to.
As a mere stripling there was no way I was going to get in on Press Day, so I didn't see the blonde model in a gold lame outfit draped across the Sunbeam Tiger on Stand 113.
Sadly Pathe didn't include the Tiger in this newsreel (there are some other Rootes cars in it) but it is interesting to hear that old political war cry of the sixties "export or die"!
The next time I mention a 'big drive' on the forum will be when the Club announces the Monte recreation we plan for 2014.
