Hi Mal,

I wouldn't have thought it was possible to find any more rusted panels as you r body repairer found everything he could.... obviously I was wrong. Well is that it for the body work? How far is he away from putting some paint on it?

Regards, Robin.

Robin,
Once that panel is done and the boot floor is back in, then we will strip the rest of the paint out of the passenger compartment, tidy up any areas that need it and it should be ready to paint. The floor pan has had repairs but seems to be solid. The only other things to do are enlarge the exhaust X frame passage and check out the windscreen frame. Fingers crossed there.

That is good to hear that the repairs are finally coming to an end. It has been an eye opener for me with all the work required, so I can only imagine what it has been like for you. I'm looking forward to seeing it returned to its former glory.

Hi Mal,

Your boot has come up very nice. Were the holes in the corners behind the seat from rust or part of the repair process when replacing you rear rails? By the way, your mascot doesn't look impressed :) .

Regards, Robin.

Robin. the holes are rust. He has to repair them once the rest is welded in as it won't fit if he does any more.

Looking good Mal. So is that it? Is all the body work complete now? When are you planning to paint it?

Regards, Robin.

The works looking really good as usual.
The exhaust cutthroughs are big. Do you have some funky exhaust in mind?

Does anyone know what the 3 holes to the left of the picture showing the trans tunnel in the side of the frame are for?

Robin, not sure when the paint will go on. I have to get the rest of the underseal off.

Code: Select all

Martin, probably 2" exhaust. The passages were made from 3" and ovaled a little. Want good clearance, no rattles.

Cheers

I spent a morning under the car removing old underseal and found some more rust :x . Panel man had to do this to get at it.

You can see a repair which has not been welded in properly to the left of the rust holes. That will need to be redone as well.
