The bodyshell looks great. Almost a shame to paint it.

Polish it and clear coat it, save getting a colour overspray on the carpet

The 2 crosses on the ends of mine are not in the exact same positions but I can't imagine it was an exact science when they made them.

Mine ended up a bit straigther than that, may have to turn it slightly.

Taught myself how to lead load this morning, NS rear wing had a few splits, holes & bumps near the light. Brazed up the holes.

Took a bit to get the hang of the tools, quite pleased with the results.

Yes, it was a kit from Frost, the one with a couple of paddles & a flexi file. The wonderfully old booklet (pre HSE police days) said not to attempt a vertical section on your first go, but hey why make life easy!
The most difficult part was judging how much lead to put on & filing it off afterwards with out scoring the lead.

Taken a few days to get this far, still a bit to do in the tight corners. Also will have to re-do the footwells as a lot of gel fell in through the various openings.

That looks great. Fantastic to see some lead loading. Are you now going to clear varnish the body? Shame to cover up that hard work

Ummm, thats good question,, i'm tempted to go for something a little more striking & before Mal says it. no not the same as the carpet in the garage.

Now we have close up pic's of that garage floor, I think I have been fooled by blue paint

As for the paint, I think Carnival red would look nice. Be quite striking against the blue background and always that little bit faster

Surely not Rare Red but not many original "striking" colours availible for Tigers?
Personally I like the Mediterranean Blue carpet but could be a bad idea to paint the car this colour... you may never find it ?

Well i've a red one & a black one already, so maybe i'll keep this one green.

Welded a fillet along the seam & filled this today, not an easy job as the lead is so thick, not 100% perfect, but the primer will take care of the imperfections.
