Metal polishing tips

Hi,

I have a new project that requires some metal (aluminium) polishing. The aluminium has been glass beated, so I will obviously need to sand back the glass beaded surface. This is where some advice would be helpful in regards to achieve a nice polished finish. Any particular products (other than sand paper) that can help?

Thanks, Robin.

I assume you mean beaded? as in glass bead blasted..?

If you want a professional finish buy a metal polishing kit with the correct pumice compunds and jewelers rouge... thats if you want it to look professional.

I would also check very carefully why LAT valve covers have their ribs removed at the rear vs normal ford cast alloy rocker covers... check your firewall clearence.

Yes I did mean glass beaded. I'll look up a metal polishing kit as I want it looking professional (or as close as I can get it). Thanks for the comments.

Hi,

My first go at metal polishing went surprisingly well. I purchased a polishing kit and following tips that I received, managed to achieve a very shiny and almost mirror like finish.

Thanks, Robin.
