He is offering to do electronic payment of funds but needs 2 copies of my passport to register the car in spain. Is this normal or am i right to be concerned. He will also be arranging his own tranportation by trailer.regards Greg.PS my tiger is nearly ready for summer and would like to know if anyone does driveouts in the herts area or anything for drive it day.thanks.

Speaking personally, I say do NOT provide any copies of your passport. Insist on being paid by bank to bank transfer in British pounds BEFORE your buyer collects the car and only the amount that is the price for the car - no more no less. All you should provide the buyer with is a receipt and the registration document. Don't forget to notify the DVLA that the car is being exported.

sounds like a money laundering scam

as Graham suggested get the £ notes in an onshore UK bank account, and don't divulge any personal information. Why does he need your personal info to register a car abroad - something smells :x

if he has your address already then with details of your passport there is a good chance that is all he needs to complete a case of identity theft.....

Hi Gregs 302.

What happened to the German buyer. Did the deal go through OK? Be good to hear if there is anything we need to learn from your experience.
