BRANDS HATCH CIRCUIT

The STOC National Rally will be held at Brands Hatch over the weekend of 28th & 29th September. Our Rally will be a part of the "British Sports Car Spectacular" which is being staged at this historic circuit. So there will be large numbers of the 'general public' there besides all of the big and not so big British sports car clubs, many of whom will be entering the two day competition programme. Sunbeam Tigers will be sited in the Upper Paddock in pride of place at the Show. Saturday will be the first opportunity to put your Tiger on show and get ready for the concours judging on Sunday and visits by Rootes VIP's. The two Lister Tigers back from the Le Mans Classic will be centre stage. There will be an informal Member's Dinner in the evening and a full sports cars racing programme. Sunday will see 25+ competition Tigers and Alpines assembling for the Team Tiger Chasestead Sunbeam Challenge race to compete for "The Mike Windebank Memorial Trophy", with scrutineering and practice in the morning and the race early afternoon. The race will run in three Tiger Classes of '260', '289', '302' and one Alpine Class. Known entries todate are: Julian Balme, Chris Beighton, Andrew Davenall, Steve Beighton, Tristan Bradfield, Jackie Cochrane, Kevin Cooper, Marc Devis, Howden Ganley, Keith Hampson, Tony Eckford, John Harrison, Simon James, Darrell Mountjoy, Andrew Parker, David Smallridge, Peter Stephenson, Chris Weedon - more info to follow. And of course both LM Tigers will be entered and we hope to have a couple of ex-works team drivers in a couple of Tigers. This meeting will be the finale of TIGERS INTERNATIONAL so let's surpass the staggering STOC display of 90 Tigers that we saw at Blenheim in 2000.. You will be able to show your Tiger the public at large by joining the free mid-day Track Parade before settling down to strolling among the lines of Tigers in the Upper Paddock as the concours judging gets underway. Show awards will include:
There will be a brief winners ceremony on the grid at the finish Chasestead Sunbeam Challenge but the "Mike Windebank Memorial Trophy and other STOC awards will be presented in the upper paddock after the race. The Show concours awards ceremony will take place at 4.00pm. It is hoped that Lewis Garrad will be able to present the "Ian Garrad Members Choice" trophy On Saturday evening we shall hold an informal Member's Dinner at the Brands Hatch Place Hotel. This splendid hotel can only cater for 40 guests. However, the hotel restaurant is rather good. Tickets are available from Graham Vickery at £27.50 per person. Would appreciate receiving orders a.s.a.p. There are 100 free weekend passes which will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
