Looks like the panhard rod mounting havew you got a wider shot so i can see exactly where you are showing?... did the car have the panhard rod when you got it? they locate the axel laterally. They also have a habbit of tearing the bracket as the mounting does not leave the rod in a horizontal plane.. on the MKII they swicthed it over.. but still tends to pull the mount out.

Michael, the previous pic is a pic of the left side, so the panhard rod is mounted to the right.

Martin, it could well be. It seems to be inside the chassis rail but could align with a hole in the outer rail. If it is the Alpine bump stop, the right side would have one as well. The inner gaurd has been repaired before so that inner rail on the right side probably had rusted out and wasn't replaced. I just wonder if it is needed for strenght as well.The threaded hole is probably for the Alpine bump stop.
The one on the other side may have never been fitted because the Panhard rod was welded in there.

Michael was quite correct as it had me that intrigued, I had to go and have a look at my Tiger and it is the body mount for the panhard rod. As Mal pointed out it is the right hand side of the Tiger. The bump stops on Tigers are a metal disc welded to the chassis which line up with the rubber stop mounted to the diff.

This side welded in. Still needs to brace through to the sill. Enlarged scollops for the exhaust

Hi Mal,
Looks like you are now starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel (body work that is), which would make you very happy. The good thing is that you now have peace of mind, knowing that the body is perfect.
