Are there two types of dashs used for the Tiger :?: :? . Mine is one piece, but I know there is a 2 piece dash as well with a seperate glove compartment, or this an Alpine dash :?: .

Thanks Malcolm

The Alpines had one piece and two piece dashes; the Tiger had only a one piece dash.

Interesting.....

Did the two piece dash for the Alpine always come in the veneer or did the separate locking compartment work with the "GT" black crinkled finish - the GT dashboard must be getting quite rare now that most owners have converted to the wood veneer finish. :)

Hi,

I was always under the impression that the GT Alpines had the wood dash/steering wheel and the standard Alpine with the black dash/steering wheel or was the wood dash on the GT an option. Secondly, I always thought that the locking type gloves compartments were after market?

Can someone clear this up.

Regards, Robin.

All SI/II alpines have the 3/4 width bakerlite dash with the seperate glovebox/surround.

S3/SIV/V ST's have the 3/4 width bakerlite dash with the seperate glovebox/surround.

S3/IV/VGT's have the wood veneer dash and wooden wheel

Very early tigers use the black vynil 3/4 dash and wooden wheel or platic wheel. After this early batch all tigers used the full width wooden dash.

No alpine or tiger had a glovebox door. Some harringtons had this.. but their interiors were made to order.

Sorry for resurrecting this after such a long time, but what is a one piece dash and two piece dash.
Can someone explain please?

Thanks.

essentially the GT cars had a full width wooden dash, the ST cars have a plastic dash that goes 3/4 across then the glovebox is held by a bakerlite surround that completes the rest of the profile/width

Ah, I think I see.
I thought what was meant by a one or two piece dash was if the bottom foam trim was permanently attached or not.

Silly me.
