I have taken the plunge and have ordered some new wheels from Image.
I took the car to them and they have worked out off sets and widths and they have come up with 6.5x 15 on the front and 8x15 for the rears.
I went for the 15 inch diameter on the advice of a few club members saying you need some side wall height to give a reasonable ride on our rotten road surfaces.
Tyres are going to be 195x50x15 fronts and 215x45x15 rears. when they arrive I will let you know if they fit

and try and post a pic

It will be nice to see a pic with those wheels on your car, and interesting to see how close the tyres are to the rear springs which seems to the closest point. Good way of doing it though. Make them do the measuring

Did you get the BRM style or the Halibrand style?

I went for the Halibrand cobra style in classic build (no bolts showing), I did like the BRM but I wanted as much dish on the outside rim as I could get, as I think deep dish rims look best. The Halibrand rim gave me a 2 inch deep rim where as the BRM would only give a 1 inch deep rim (on the front) this is due to the way the center piece of the split rim is made and is a lot thicker.
spoke to image monday just gone still another couple of weeks before delivery
