JKP300E At Barons Auction

Post by Max4wiz2 » Fri Dec 03, 2010 4:58 pm

B94728HR01FE

Does anyone know much about this car which I think has come from a dealer.
Has anyone seen the quality of the restoration?

I'm looking to purchase a Tiger during 2011, hopefully when I move in the summer or earlier if I find a nice one.
Saw this one on Barons site wondered if it was worth registering a bid.

Cheers

Al

Hi Al, this Tiger has been for sale for a very long time.

http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C102930/

The chassis No makes no sense as the figures seem to be mixed up and are minus a figure. It should be B947XXXX HROFE.

Hope this helps a little.

Just to add, it's registered with the DVLA as being blue.

Thanks Martin.

I remeber seeing it advertised minus a front bumper mid restoration.

They must want to shift some stock.

I'll query the chassis number, and ask if there is a engine number.

Thanks

al

There are some old comments here: http://sunbeamtiger.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=478

Might explain why it has been put into an auction.

The plot thickens if I get a chance I'll try to get to the auction, and take photo's.

Does anyone know what make of air filter this has?

I'd like a different kind for mine but I don't fancy spending £500 on an original one.

Thanks.

Found this a short while ago, and doesn't look at of place from the original.

There are a few variations on eBay.

Summit Racing in the US have a very good selection, and this one is very close to the one in that video me thinks;

That's a great bit of sleuthing there Tony. Thanks. :D

That first one does look really good and is very similar to the original.
I do like to proportions of the second one too.

Here's a translation of the first one for those like me who don't speak German.

19 "OVAL BILLET AIR CLEANER AIR CLEANER HOT ROD STREET NEW SEALED!

19 "OVAL BILLET ALU" DUAL "AIR FILTER" STRIP "of polished aluminum.
All screws, adapter plates + filter 2 "are included.

Very nicely polished and high quality finish.
The air filter has a length of 19 inches (48cm). Width 8 "(20cm)
Bet size 2 "(5cm), height approx 10cm.

For double carburetor, carburetor ports have a diameter of 130mm.
Conversion to a carburetor possible.
Upper and lower parts are made of polished aluminum! Very stable quality!
find air filters in all other versions it on my homepage.

If there is interest in other parts, have a look on me page
or in our ebay shop
