It must be worth a lot more than that simply for the original gauge steel alone.

If it had been near me I'd have had that.

You still need to collect all the other pieces if you don't already have them, which are hard to find in good condition but it is very cheap.

Agreed all the clips and windows are missing but getting 80% of a lid for a tenner is awesome.

While we're on the subject, does anyone have one of the GRP ones?
I intend to get a lid at some point and I wondered what they are like.
They certainly look good.

I've switched from steel to fibreglass. Much lighter to handle, don't rust, & look ok. But they do vary in fixings. Some are very crude "J" bolts with no pins into boot hinges. But can be adapted to take original fastenings.

Exactly. There doesn't seem to be a downside to going for fibreglass.
As we all know, the cheapest performance gain is to lose weight.

Of the fibreglass ones, which are considered the best and which have the best fixings.
I would have thought that the hinge pins would be very important as far as alignment and keeping it on the car is concerned.

You guys just can't resist rubbing our noses in your nice weather can you. :D
I'd love a carbon fibre one tbh. That would be uber cool, super light and the black would look great on my white car.

Instead of trying to save weight, just increase the horse power that way it counter acts the weight issue. Summer is over now, but you really couldn't call it summer as all along the east coast there was some sort of serious flooding going on. Some areas are still in flood as well.
